The Parents' Committee of the Saturday Catechism classes organized a common recreational event for the kids in the program. The aim was to spend a day together, have fun and at the same time do something useful for everybody.

So, we met at a Bowling Recreational Center in town at around 9:30. From 10:00 to 12:00 about seventy kids aged 6 - 15 started having fun and competing at the bowling courses. Probably the center never so many kids all at one time. Because of the large turnout the entry fees were considerably reduced, which was a plus. At 12:00 o'clock we headed for the Parish hall where the committee members had prepared fresh and hot Pizzas and Cokes which we devoured because we were all starving.

After that we were supposed to watch a movie of The Miracle of Marcelino. Sr. Aster had mentioned the story in class and we were interested in watching the movie. Much more so since we heard that in our parents' country of origin "Markosay, Weny ms Hmbashay" used to be a best seller in the seventies and eighties. It would have helped us a lot to understand the literal background of our parents. Unfortunately, for technical reasons we did not succeed in our aim. It means it will be for another day, another good reason to come together and have something to do in common.

However we had a lot of fun running after one another, screaming and yelling at one another. At about 3:00 o' clock we left for home. For now, our next appointment is for March 25 at 3:00 o'clock when the Religious Education program will resume.
We thank the Parents' Committee and the Program Director for their interest and their dedication to our groups. We hope they will organize more and diversified "getting together" of our age groups.
